Six must-see conscious and thought-provoking documentaries!

Looking for a documentary that raises awareness of some of the global issues we have to deal with? Here are six suggestions for this weekend – most of them you can watch on Netflix or YouTube (links can be found on our resource page!).

@seaspiracy – Investigates the global fishing industry and shows us how human actions cause widespread environmental destruction. It shows the harm that humans do to marine species and uncovers alarming global corruption.

Dominion

@dominionmovement – It uses drones, hidden and handheld cameras to expose the dark underbelly of modern animal agriculture, questioning the morality and validity of humankind’s dominion over the animal kingdom.

The True Cost

@truecostmovie – The story about the clothes we wear, the people who make them, and the fashion industry’s impact on our world. It challenges us to consider who really pays the price for our clothing?

Breaking Boundaries

@davidattenborough and scientist Johan Rockström examine Earth’s biodiversity collapse and how this crisis can still be averted. It is an informative documentary that shows us the many ways we are breaking nature’s boundaries.

Kiss the Ground

(@kissthegroundmovie): A revolutionary group of activists, scientists, farmers, and politicians band together in a global movement of “Regenerative Agriculture” that could balance our climate, replenish our vast water supplies, and feed the world.

Before the Flood

This documentary follows @LeonardoDiCaprio while he meets with scientists, activists and world leaders to discuss the dangers of climate change and some of the possible solutions.
